Accounts Receivable - Trade Management Specialist

Reports To: Trade Management Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:
- Contribute to business improvement by educating and partnering with the sales team to help manage their financial requirements.
- Add value to our customers by providing a direct interface for all trade management & accounts receivable questions, issues and problem resolutions.
- Contribute to the financial success of Stonyfield by improving DSO with identification of unpaid invoices, resolution of customer issues impacting payment frequency and partnering with Sales to lead aggressive and focused collection efforts of invalid deductions.
- Insure internal control and financial integrity over the trade management process by validating transactions in the trade management process are recorded consistently with internal policies and accounting rules.
- Invoicing & Price Verifications: Proactively prevent invoice disputes by identifying invoice price discrepancies and resolving with Sales and Customers.
- Accurate and timely application of cash receipts in accordance with established guidelines.
- Validate and process customer claims in CAS system.
- Create claims in CAS for deductions and payments.
- Management of trade accrual in CAS: forecast to actual comparisons, ensure accuracy of accrual.
- Collection of customer invalid deductions.
- Identify EFT opportunities with partner Customers and work to transition.
- Perform control function to validate accuracy of promotion contracts and promotion claims.
- Establish cross-functional relationships to respond to needs of the business: resolution of customer issues, improved management of trade spending, improved collections.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Environmental Responsibilities
- Support environmental programs established within the organization to include recycle all office wastes according to program guidelines, initiate power conservation techniques by turning off lights and Computers when not in use.
- Proactively look for ways to reduce negative impacts on the environment
Safety Responsibilities
- Proactively work in a safe manner in the context of performing the functions of your position
- Oversee the implementation and adherence to Company safety practices and programs and hold staff accountable for leading safety in the work place.
Qualifications
- Self motivated; requiring little day-to-day supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Prior experience / understanding of trade management concepts and policies.
- Understanding of control concepts, policies, and trade accounting rules.
- Ability to learn and use transactional systems.
- Flexible in trying new ways of accomplishing objectives.
- BA or BS degree preferred.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines within specified time constraints.
- Ability to operate in a team environment.
- Ability to adapt in a changing work environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely lift 20 lbs.
- Ability to bend and reach files and cabinets where records are stored.
- Office environment repetitive motion through computer use is required
- Manufacturing environment operating in areas where high noise, machinery and chemicals are present
